WALDO

Waldo is a male Dachshund mix who is estimated at 9 mths of age (9/28/05). Waldo came to the shelter as a stray after he was found hanging around the shelter gate one day. He was in excellent shape (or appeared to be at the time!) so the search was on to find his home but no such luck so Waldo was ready to be put up for adoption. As his bad luck would continue, just a few days after arriving at the shelter and just the day after being placed into a temporary foster home, Waldo became ill and he was rushed to the Animal ER! Poor little Waldo was diagnosed with Parvo and spent the next 2 wks recuperating from that...10 days in the hospital and another 4 days in his foster home. Waldo is now 100% healthy and is a very special little boy. Currently weighing 18 lbs (and as big as he should get!), Waldo has the longer body style and short legs like a Dachshund and you can see Doxie in his face as well and his markings are black and tan like Doxie's can be. And he has a sweet, laid-back and loving personality. Waldo loves to be a lap dog and he searches his foster mom out given any chance he can to jump on her lap and snuggle. Waldo has been fine around his foster Mom's grandchildren. Waldo is great with other dogs and in fact, loves to wrestle and play with the other dogs in his foster home. He is really wants to play with the resident cat as well but she isn't so sure about that and hasn't given in to Waldo's insistence. If you have been looking for a great companion, Waldo could be the one for you. He has been neutered, current on vacciantions, dewormings and is doing very well with crate training and housetraining.
